BRP partner of the third edition of the "Battle of Kings"
BRP Europe supplies seven DS 650 X quads and seven Sea-Doo 3D watercraft.
Ibiza (Spain), January 19, 2005 - At the end of last year, BRP associated itself with the "Battle of Kings" event organized to raise funds for the "Wings for Life" foundation in Ibiza, Spain. BRP Europe and its Spanish distributor, Jets Marivent, supplied seven DS 650 X quads and seven Sea Doo 3D watercraft so the champions of the GP motocross circuit could compete while raising funds for spinal cord research.
"Battle of Kings" is organized by the manufacturer of RED BULL energy drinks to raise funds for "Wings for Life", a non-profit organization founded in 1997 by the former GP world motocross champion, Heinz "Kini" Kinigadner. Kinigadner stated, "The funds raised will go to make sure that no young athlete has to spend the rest of his or her life in a wheelchair after an accident".
The greatest names in motor sports attended the event. In fact, these athletes gave the many spectators quite a show, racing vehicles such as Bombardier quads, Sea-Doo watercraft, buggies, hovercrafts and inflatable canoes.
In the paddocks were the world indoor motocross trials champion Adam Raga, Paris-Dakar rally winner Nani Roma, world supercross champion Yves Demaria, DTM champ Mattias Ekstroem, as well as Max Biaggi and special guests such as Niki Lauda and Felix Baumgartner.
"The drivers here especially appreciate the Sea-Doo 3D watercraft and the DS 650 X quads," said Hayes Wheelless, the organizer of the event. "It's unbelievable how easily they manoeuvred the DS 650 X-it's truly a stable vehicle that's fun and easy to drive," he continued.
When the race was over, the best manoeuvring and fastest time went to Yves Demaria, who stated, "My only goal was to have fun, and it felt great to leave such motor sports giants in the dust! But it's an even better feeling to have fought for a worthy cause and for 'Wings for Life'".
